Titans Rallycross Europe is the new name for the Global Rallycross Europe series following consultation with the FIA.
The name change, which has been made apparent on the series’ social media accounts in recent weeks, comes ahead of the series’ first event at Dreux in France on June 29-30
„The past few months have been both challenging and exciting,” said Max J. Pucher, CEO of MJP Promotions. “Now all pieces have fallen into place and we have received FIA International Series status for TitansRX.”
The driver-focussed series will now solely focus on the PanteraRX6 Supercars developed by MJP Racing specifically for the series.
“TitansRX Europe will be a single-make series using the specially-developed Pantera RX6 machine – a car that delivers rallycross supercar performance, but for a fraction of the cost,” Pucher said. “The series is set to host races on classic rallycross circuits in France, UK, Portugal, Austria, Hungary and Germany.
“The performance of the PanteraRX6 Supercar has convinced drivers since the world premiere last October. It shows that controlling cost for exciting rallycross supercar racing works,“ he added. “TitansRX will excite the fans with 500bhp plus rallycross cars in dynamic sprint races in stadium settings providing the best in racing entertainment.”
The originally planned FIA Supercar class will be replaced by local support races for a more exciting weekend experience for spectators, with categories including SuperNationals, S1600, CrossKarts, and RetroRX all set to feature across the course of the season.
TitansRX Europe will also be exclusively broadcast on Eurosport, which will show coverage of every event. There will be a 30-minute recap of Saturday’s racing on Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings, and a one-hour LIVE broadcast of Sunday’s finals on Eurosport 1 or 2. What’s more, each broadcast will make use of live in-car cameras and a studio stage for driver interaction.
As well as the weekend broadcasts, Eurosport will also show a 25-minute TitansRX Bulletin programme to round off the weekend on the following Tuesday after each event.
„Rallycross has always been highly popular amongst our viewers so we are thrilled to showcase every race from the TitansRX Europe Series across all Eurosport platforms, including on-demand to watch anytime, anywhere on the Eurosport Player,” said Sebastian Tiffert, Director Global Motorsport Production at Eurosport.
