Hayden Paddon leads opening practice in Essay

Hayden Paddon topped the opening practice session of the 2019 TitansRX season at Circuit des Ducs in Essay, France, beating Nelson Piquet Jr. to the top spot.

The World Rally Championship star set a best time of 34.832s, less than half a tenth of a second faster than Piquet, who made history by being the  first driver on track in an official TitansRX event session.

World Rallycross regular Timmy Hansen was the only other driver to break into the 34s, setting the third-fastest time, ahead of Topi Heikkinen and local widcard driver Jerome Grosset-Janin.

‚CsuCsu‘ just missed out on the top five by little more than a tenth of a second. The Hingarian lapped at a similar pace to Kevin Hansen who was seventh fastest.

Ronny C’Rock, Antoine Masse, and Tamara Molinaro completed the top 10, ahead of Reini Sampl.

Andreas Steffen was the only driver who didn’t set a time during practice with a minor wiring issue causing his Audi-bodied Pantera RX6 to not deliver any power. The problem was quickly resolved, but not before the end of the session.
